Race Report: Peterson and Dougherty Victorious at Revolution Enduro in Glorieta, NM

The Specialized Revolution Enduro Series, presented by Fat Tire, started the season with an all-backcountry race in Glorieta, NM. For the 2023 season, Revolution Enduro will donate $1000 to the local trail advocacy organization at each stop, thanks to the $5000 sponsorship grant from Fat Tire. Also, many thanks to Jagged Axe Trail Designs for creating and maintaining the top-notch tracks, which are just a sampling of the great riding at Glorieta Camps.

Saturday was dedicated to a full day of practice for racers, and on Sunday, four unique and rowdy stages covering 22 miles with nearly 4400 feet of climbing and descending put racers in the red zone. To keep the race rigs rolling, C3 Bike Shop, Rocky Mountain Wheel Works, and Rift Cycles were in the sponsor village, providing top notch service and replacement parts. To make it a fun day on the bike, racers could run light and unencumbered with supplies by accessing three different neutral aid stations to stay hydrated and properly fueled, and after the race, a hot lunch and cold beverages were available to all.

Former Singlespeed Cross Country National Champion Macky Franklin set the fastest time on Stage 1 and clinched a 4th place overall in the Pro Men.

Specialized Racing’s Jake Keller rallied to a 6th overall on the day.

Max Sedlak took top honors for the Specialized Racing Team with a 3rd overall.

Ben Mackenzie rode to a respectable 7th in the Pro Men.

Fiona Dougherty showed speed and precision with a second on Stage 1.

Lee Moriah had a consistent weekend to claim 3rd overall in the Pro Women, and also set the fastest women’s time on Stage 2’s Janker DH.

Boulder Junior Cycling’s Henry Rapinz put the pro’s on notice with an 8th overall in the Pro Men.

A solid day for Jack Brown with a close second in the Pro Men.

Colton Peterson continues to build speed and rack up wins this season with another overall Pro Men’s victory. Colton set the fastest times for three of the four stages with some very impressive riding.

Hannah Russert rode to 4th overall in the Pro Women.

Bryan Hastey took the overall win in the highly competitive Junior Men’s 17-18 race.

Jack Brown kept it a race till the end and finished just 17 seconds behind Colton for the overall.

Olivia Salter raced against her teammate for the win and ultimately took second overall in the Pro Women.

Stage 4’s Chili Dog featured an all new finish with a substantial roll, or airdrop to bottom, which Celia Ferguson made look easy on her way to 5th overall in the Pro Women.

Ella Easton took the win for all four stages and the overall Women’s Junior 13-18 field.
