The women’s event of the ZüriDirt Contest as part of the Cycle Week in Zurich, Switzerland last weekend was an absolute event highlight with spectacular tricks and even a world’s first. Germany’s Patricia Druwen (GER) secured a supreme victory with her two runs, including a world premiere: never before had a woman performed a backflip double barspin during a contest. With Alma Wiggberg (SWE) and Kathi Kuypers (GER), two further world-class athletes completed the podium.
In the ZüriTrail Jumppark, 16-yr. old Patricia Druwen made bike history again. The young German showed a tailwhip and a 180 barspin in her runs. Both tricks are not simple, and Patricia is one of the few women who can master and land them. But this time the number one in the FMB World Tour Women’s Ranking outdid herself: showing a backflip double barspin, a world’s first, her competition did not stand a chance.
