We’re thrilled to have partnered with the Fire In The Mountains Enduro for the second round of the 2023 We Are One Canadian Enduro League Presented By Leatt. This event is a hot commodity, with a waitlist a mile long since the day registration went live! And even better yet, it is all for a great cause! Let’s get into it!
On Sunday, May 14th, the Smith Creek trail network will welcome riders for the second annual Fire In The Mountains Enduro, RD #2 of the We Are One Canadian Enduro League presented by Leatt. There is something extra special about this event, though. Not only does this race bring together an epic community, but it is also a fundraiser for the West Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charity, which supports great initiatives such as the BC Burn Fund, The Boys and Girls Club, C.R.I.S. (Community Recreation Incentive Society) and local initiatives like the West Kelowna Trail crew. We’re incredibly proud to be involved with this and cannot wait to get underway on Sunday.
The Smith Creek trails will host a course that covers just over 34km and around 1500m of climbing across six stages of racing. Not a bad day in the saddle if we do say so ourselves! Not only is this course looking hot, but riders will be feeling the temperature this weekend, with a predicted 32 degrees. Summer is here! Make sure you pack plenty of water and snacks, and slap that sunscreen on! It’s gonna be a hot one.
This single black diamond-graded event brings together some of Smith Creek’s best trails, including Motobomba, Soul Train, Feel The Love, FOMO, and more! The man, the myth, the legend, Brett Tippie, will be on deck, keeping everyone stoked post-race and presenting awards. We’ve got some epic prizes for those that can go the fastest, as well as a stack of draw prizes from We Are One Composites, Soverign Cycles, Big White, and more.
A massive thank you to the West Kelowna Trail Crew, local 4456 Professional Firefighters Charitable Society, our volunteers, and everyone who helped pull this event together.

We are proud to have McElhanney Ltd. as the official Outdoor Recreation Consultant of the Canadian Enduro League. They offer many trail-related services, from trail planning, design, and construction administration, to Section 57 applications, with an even broader list of services such as engineering, geomatics, planning, and more. The McElhanney Stage of each race is chosen to highlight a unique experience for riders and often includes unique trail features. This stage will feature more opportunities for racers to get photographed by our media team, so make sure you’re smiling!
For RD #2, the McElhanney Stage will be the very first of the day, Stage 1, Motobomba. Keep an eye on our Instagram and YouTube channel for a stage preview!
We’re keeping things simple. Everything you need to know for the weekend ahead can be found in our Race Book. If you need more information, head to our website. If you’re still confused, send us an email, and we’ll help out.
