Words: Big Mountain Enduro
Round two of Big Mountain Enduro has officially started with a practice day here at the lush and green Sunrise Ski Resort located in the Fort Apache Reservation, that sits near the border of Arizona and New Mexico. This weekend BME will see riders from over twenty states and will also welcome for the first time the nations only Youth Enduro Series with youth racers from all over the western United States!
Pro Riders Luca Cometti and Kera Linn took some time out of their day today to give us a one of a kind look at the trails at our newest venue. You can see what they think of these intense and unique trails in these videos below and on YouTube
Day one of practice went off without a hitch and we’ve had nothing but good reviews of the trails at this venue. These photos taken by Logan Gallagher show another view point of what is to come this weekend.
The Apache Tribe has taken the time to put together a special opening ceremony so that their tribe can say a prayer of protection over the riders and spectators this weekend. This ceremony will come after an autograph session with last years Women’s Pro Champion Porsha Murdock and Mens Pro Champion Colton Peterson, we will also see Nik Nesteroff, Kailey Skelton, Cody Kelly, Jacob Snow, and Max Sedlak and possibly more at 4pm to 5pm at the BME registration tent!
We will have two live shows this weekend; first we will broadcast the Youth Enduro Series awards at 3pm on Saturday June 10th and on Sunday we will broadcast the awards for BME at 4pm MST! You can watch both!
